Our Best No Deposit Plan was with Bounce Energy although they now only offer no deposit based on credit. If you have good credit you can get a low or no deposit electricity rate plan. The low deposit based on good credit is offered on all their plans as long as the credit score meets a certain standard. If you fail their credit check they have considerably lower deposit amounts than most Texas electricity providers. Bounce has significantly cheaper electric rates than most providers so if you are asked for a low deposit amount you will usually recoup that in less than a few months. When comparing prepay and pay as you go electric companies you will end up paying what you would have paid as a deposit because their rates are usually 16 cents per kWh or higher. They may hook you in at an initial $99 turn on fee but will ask for more money in only a few weeks totalling the same or more in what you would have paid a traditional electric company. We recommend you start with a traditional electric company like Bounce Energy who will try to waive the deposit or atleast give you a low deposit requirement. This way you lock in a cheap electric rate and avoid going with a pre pay electric company.
